After immigrating to Canada from Iran in late 2004, Ms. Soudeh Ghasemi pursued her education and career and holds Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Laurentian University and is currently working towards her CPA designation. She is fluent in both Farsi and English allowing me to better connect with my fellow Iranian-Canadians.
Presently, Ms. Ghsaemi is lecturing at The School of Accounting and Financial Services at Seneca College and is working as an Accounting Manager and consultant at Castle Mountain Mining Company as well as the Buchan Family Charity Foundation. Prior to this, she worked at the McCarney Greenwood LLP Chartered Accountants with a focus on public accounting and auditing.
Ms. Ghasemi runs her own accounting and consulting business providing personal and corporate accounting services. She is compassionate about giving back to the community and have volunteered her time as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the OMID foundation Toronto chapter that empowers disadvantaged young women in Iran and the Liberal Party of Canada during the provincial election and federal nomination for the Richmond Hill riding. Ms. Ghasemi has also been heavily involved in the “I am Iranian-Canadian too” Campaign helping Iranian-Canadians become better acquainted with the Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC) and encourage them to join the ICC to strengthen their participation in addressing issues facing Iranians within Canada.
She is a strong supporter of promoting and protecting the rights, freedoms and interests of all Iranians in Canada while encouraging Iranian-Canadians to achieve unity in order to reach their common goals.
