Here is an announcement regarding appointment of Dr. Ali Nikjoo to ICC Board:

Dear Members of the Iranian Canadian Congress,

We are pleased to inform you that Dr. Ali Nikjoo has kindly agreed to serve on the board of directors of the Iranian Canadian Congress, replacing the board member who resigned on February 25, 2016. Dr. Nikjoo’s appointment is effective on March 25, 2016 and will expire on the day of this year’s AGM. As announced previously, Mr. Farhang Farid resigned from his positon as a board member on February 25, 2016. In accordance with the bylaws of the organization, as the ICC President, I solicited recommendations from the board. One recommendation was to go back to the 2015 election results and approach the unelected individual with the highest vote. This is the path we took. We approached Ms. Fatemeh Mansourifar first. She thanked us for the consideration but turned down our offer for personal reasons. We then approached Dr. Ali Nikjoo who kindly agreed to work with us in the remaining few weeks to the AGM. Please note that one of our conditions was to have an individual who was not planning to run in the upcoming election, as the AGM and the election is the main topic of discussion in the remaining time to the AGM and her/his presence on the board at this time could give her/him unfair advantage over other candidates.
