On Sunday September 10, 2017, a group of Iranian-Canadian students peacefully gathered in front of the Toronto office of Hon. Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to demand the federal government to fulfill its 2 year old promise to reestablish diplomatic relations with Iran and reopen the embassies in Ottawa and Tehran.

On the fifth anniversary of the breaking of diplomatic ties with Iran, the Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC) calls on the Government of Prime Minister Trudeau to fulfill its promise to reestablish diplomatic relations and reopen the Canada-Iran embassies.

The ICC is recruiting volunteers for its Public Relations and Communications Department. The department is responsible for effective and professional communication with members, supporters, media, and other stakeholders on a regular basis and community building.

The Administration and Finance Committee of the Iranian Canadian Congress is formed by the ICC's President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. It is responsible for planning, administering and managing the operations of the organization. The Committee is looking for interested and dedicated volunteers with a broad range of qualifications or experiences.

It has been nearly two years since the federal government of PM Trudeau promised to reopen the Iranian embassy in Canada. It is time we hold the government to account on its promise by calling and emailing our Members of Parliament.

The Iranian Canadian Congress is hosting an event regarding the challenges Iranian immigrants in Canada face at the North York Civic Centre on August 4th 2017 from 7pm to 9pm. All Iranian immigrants are welcome to discuss the challenges that they faced, or continue to face, during settlement in Canada.

Canada must side with its EU allies in protecting this important non-proliferation agreement and in advancing peace and stability in the Middle East.

The Iranian Canadian Congress has engaged with all of the NDP Leadership Candidates to determine how they intend to address the needs of the Iranian-Canadian community.
