On March 21st, 2017 the Quebec National Assembly passed a unanimous motion to pay tribute to Nowruz.

The motion was introduced by Mr. Khadir (Mercier), together with Mrs. Weil, Minister of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusiveness, Mrs. Poirier (Hochelaga-Maisonneuve), Mr. Sklavounos (Laurier-Dorion), and Mrs. Ouellet (Vachon).

Congratulations to the Iranian Canadian community in Quebec and the many activists and organizations who have advocated for the recognition of Nowruz in the QC Assembly. We also take this opportunity to sincerely thank members of the QC Assembly who have introduced the motion and all of the members for unanimously supporting this motion.
