1400 Art Project - Aileen Bahmanipour

Aileen Bahmanipour is a Vancouver based artist.

Statement from artist:
"I rehearse cultural identity in narrative forms through my personal experiences. In this work, I have a direct reference to traditional Persian painting, in which the margin of the work has the responsibility to support the central image. The margin becomes a less important platform for the visibility of the main image. In "Sucking My Tears," the margin becomes a nourishing mother that tries to feed and grow something out of the cycle of the main image, out of the self-produced and self-fed cycle of torture."
