Date: September 8, 2026  The Iranian Canadian Congress continues to unequivocally condemn the US-Israeli war of aggression on Iran. We are deeply alarmed by the mounting civilian toll in Iran resulting from US-Israeli attacks on residential areas and civilian infrastructure, which constitute gross violations of international humanitarian law.  On September 1, 2026, the US carried out multiple strikes on a residential compound in Kuhestak, Sirik County, Iran, where a wedding ceremony was taking place. The attacks killed two children—4-year-old Amir Karimi and 16-year-old Mohammad Mallahi—and three women—22-year-old Asiyeh Molainejad, 43-year-old Kolsoom Mallahi, and 50-year-old Zarkhatoon Taheri. More than 60 other Iranians were wounded, mostly women and children [1, 2, 3, 4].
