Simorgh Achievement Awards 2018

Nominate yourself or someone else for the Simorgh Achievement Awards 2018:

The Simorgh Gala is an event organized by the Iranian Canadian Congress that celebrates the contributions of the Iranian-Canadian community to Canada. During this annual gala the Iranian Canadian Congress recognizes individuals/organizations who have dedicated their lives to building a flourishing Iranian-Canadian community by awarding them the Simorgh Achievement Awards.

This year we have a new process for nomination and selection of the award recipients. For the first time we are engaging the public in the nomination process and we are forming an independent awards committee for improved transparency and fairness. Please review this page carefully to find out how you can nominate yourself or another individual or a non-profit or charity organization for one of the 4 Achievement Awards that will be given away on Feb 2, 2018 at the Simorgh Gala.

Awards Selection

To improve the transparency and fairness in the process the Iranian Canadian Congress for the first time is forming an independent Awards Committee consisting of experts, long time community activists and previous recipients of the Simorgh Awards to evaluate the nomination applications and select the final award recipients for each category. The Awards Committee works independent of the ICC Board of Directors and only members of the Awards Committee will have the right to vote or comment in the evaluation process.

Final Announcement

The final award recipients for each category will be announced at the Simorgh Gala 2018 on February 2nd, 2018. For more information about the Simorgh Gala or to purchase your tickets to the event please visit the following page:
