ICC warns TD customers about denial of online access to their accounts in Iran

The Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC) warns individuals visiting or planning to visit Iran about denial of online access to their TD accounts

Over the past month, the Iranian Canadian Congress has learned from its constituents and its own sources that TD customers visiting Iran have been unable to access their accounts online while in the country. Additionally, the ICC’s repeated attempts to communicate with TD itself to clarify and rectify this issue have been ignored by the institution. We therefore warn any individual who is visiting or may visit Iran in the future to make plans to use other banking services; to the ICC’s knowledge, other major Canadian banks’ online services are currently accessible from Iran.

The Iranian Canadian Congress continues to pursue the banking file with the goal of preventing discrimination against Iranian-Canadians by financial institutions. If you or anyone you know has been denied banking services because of their Iranian nationality or income, then we encourage you to contact us.
