Dorna Mojdami

Dorna began her academic career at York University graduating with a Honours Bachelor of Science (HBSc.) in 2008 and continuing her studies at the University of Western Ontario, Graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree in 2012. Dorna has been practicing as a general dentist for the past 5 years, and in 2016 decided to further her education. She is currently pursuing a Dental Specialty Degree and Master of Science (MSc.) in Dental Public in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. Her interest in pursuing this specialty stems from her work with people from lower socioeconomic statuses as well as a high immigrant population. She strongly believes that inequalities in accessing dental healthcare should be eliminated and that every individual has the right to equal access to the best oral health care that is available. Dorna is also interested in pursuing research connecting oral health with overall health and strengthening the relationship between medical doctors and oral health care providers in order to provide patients with optimal care.

Dorna is the Co-founder and President of the Iranian Ontario Dental Association (IODA) founded in March 2014. Dorna joined the Iranian Canadian Congress in 2015 and decided to run as a board member in 2016. She is currently the Chair of the Culture Committee at the ICC.

Dorna is committed to helping and uniting the Iranian-Canadian community and is active in organizing networking and social events that promote unity and diversity with the Iranian-Canadian community.
