Positioning Principles

First principle: The Iranian Canadian Congress should encourage what is beneficial to the preservation of the dignity, interests and rights of Iranian-Canadians.

Second principle: The Iranian Canadian Congress must oppose anything that is detrimental to the dignity, interests, and rights of Iranian-Canadians or discriminates against them.

Third principle: The Iranian Canadian Congress should not interfere in anything that has nothing to do with the interests of Iranian-Canadians.

Fourth principle: The Iranian Canadian Congress’ positions should follow and respect Canadian and international law. Also, given that many members of the ICC have the citizenship of other countries, and since taking any position may have side effects for some members of the ICC and others, it is necessary that the security and interests of the majority of the ICC members in those countries be considered in the positions taken by the ICC.

Fifth principle: The Iranian Canadian Congress cannot take a position that could be used for imposing sanctions, war or any threat, aggression, or encroachment on the security or national interests of countries, especially Iran and Canada.
