The Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC) is very concerned about recent news of Ms. Maryam Mombeini's health condition in Iran.

The ICC asks the Iranian government and judiciary to ensure Ms. Maryam Mombeini's health and safety and to allow her return to her family in Canada.

Unfortunately, Canada's lack of diplomatic relations with Iran has limited its ability to advocate on behalf of its citizens in Iran. Nevertheless, we ask the Canadian government to advocate for Ms. Mombeini's safe return to her family through existing diplomatic channels, including through Italy as Canada's designated Protective Power in Iran.
