Earlier this year from mid-March to April Iran was hit by unprecedented rainfall and floods that impacted approximately 10 million people in all of the country’s 31 provinces.
In response, the Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC) immediately contacted the Canadian Red Cross and the Canadian Minister of International Development requesting assistance for the flood victims in Iran.
Shortly thereafter, the Canadian Red Cross launched a campaign to raise donations for the flood victims in Iran and provided a dedicated platform for the Iranian Canadian Congress to raise donations as well. Based on the final report from the Canadian Red Cross, $150,000 was raised for providing emergency assistance to flood victims in Iran.
According to the latest report published by the Canadian Red Cross the funds were used towards the following items:
- 296,000 people were provided with emergency shelter.
- 29,000 people received health interventions, including psychosocial support.
- 216,000 food parcels were delivered to people impacted by the floods.

We would like to once again thank all those who supported this campaign to help provide emergency assistance to flood victims in Iran.
