Tayaz Fakhri is an MBA alumni, working in IT industry as researcher and consultant and also as a teacher in different schools. He has been active in cultural, social, political and student associations since studying in Electrical Engineering in Iran in the well-known Electrical Engineering faculty of the University of Tehran. After immigrating to Canada in 2008, he continued his studies in Masters of Science and MBA in the Ryerson University and graduated from the latter in 2013. During this period, he took initiatives and led communities; for example he co-founded a human rights organization the Ryerson University which was named HRIR, or he became the graduate chairperson of Ryerson University's Student Union and in charge for 3000 graduate students there in 2009 - 2010. Within the Iranian Community he co-founded one of the only horizontal organizations called as Na-Ma-Na-Cinema, functioning in the arts and Cinema realm.
Tayaz has been a part of the Iranian Canadian Congress since 2015 as a volunteer in ICC Bylaws Sub-committee, Public Relations and Communications committee and also part of the Board of Directors since may 2016 to date. In the last year, he was mostly involved in initiatives such as Public consultation and prioritization of the organization, new Professional committee and Iranian Canadian non-for-profit roundtable.
