ICC’s 1401 Nowruz Fundraiser - Food Bank
مدت کوتاهی تا نوروز ۱۴۰۱ فاصله داریم. پس از گذار از ایام سخت کرونا٬ آغاز بهار فرصتی است تا قدردان سلامت خود و اطرافیانمان باشیم. در آستانه نوروز ۱۴۰۱ کنگره ایرانیان کانادا در تلاش است تا به مناسبت فرا رسیدن سال نو مبلغ ۱۱.۴۰۱ دلار به نفع بانک غذای شهرهای ریچموندهیل و ونکوور جمع آوری کند. این فراخوان فرصتی است تا شادیمان در سال نو را به عنوان یک کامیونیتی با جامعه بزرگتر کانادایی به اشتراک بگذاریم. این دو بانک غذا ٬ خیریه های ثبت شده کانادایی هستند و شما می توانید در قبال مبالغ اهداییتان٬ رسید مالیاتی دریافت کنید.

Dr.Babak Abbaszadeh leads the Bristol Myers Squibb US Medical Affairs cardiovascular team. He joined BMS Canada in 2014 as Head of Medical Affairs and prior to joining US Medical in January, has over 20 years of medical and pharmaceutical expertise and a deep knowledge of International healthcare systems. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, he worked as a physician with “Médecins Sans Frontières” in refugee camps in Afghanistan , worked in primary care and emergency clinics in Abkhazia, Georgia and Malaria clinics in Burma. Dr. Abbaszadeh earned his Medical Doctor degree from Azad Medical University, Tehran, Iran and his MBA from John-Molson School of Business in Montreal, Canada.

The Iranian-Canadian Congress intends to hold special workshops to help Iranian immigrants find work in Canada. Dr. Iraj Beheshti, has a bachelor of science from the University of British Columbia in Chemistry, a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Sussex in England and an MBA from the University of Saint Thomas in Minneapolis, USA. The Iranian Canadian Congress is delighted to be presenting the third of its Community Roundtable Sessions on Sunday, March 11th 2018, at Room 3 of the North York Civic Center.
Session 3: How could we increase the participation of Iranian-Canadian Women in Canada?
This event will be broken down to three parts:
1. Experts Panel
2. Community/Members Panel
3. Question & Answer
Part 1 (~30 - 45 min): one or few experts and professionals will be invited as panelists to speak in regards to the topic of the session. The time allocated for this part will be divided equally between the panelists.
Part 2 (~70min): Five to Seven interested community members will be given 10 minutes each to provide their comments, questions, or concerns with respect to the topic of the session. At the end, 10 minutes will be reserved and divided between the speakers equally to share their closing remarks or comments with respect to fellow speakers' comments.
** Speakers in part two of the session are required to submit a summary (max 200 words) via the following online form to the session's facilitator: https://goo.gl/forms/kzcC0Kw7lejyMbJT2
The facilitator will make sure the comments are diverse, on topic, and bounded in time limitations of the session. Presentations can be in Farsi or English. There is also an option of sending the whole video of the presentation if you live outside Toronto.

For the first time the Iranian Canadian Congress hosts an information session for the Iranian Canadian community in Vancouver. Our special guest in this session is Member of Parliament Majid Jowhari. During this session our panelists will be discussing the following topics:
- Iranian Canadian Congress and its role in promoting civic engagement in our community.
- Canada-Iran relations and the role of our community.
- Challenges and priorities of Iranian immigrants in Canada and federal policies to resolve these challenges.

We'd like to invite you to ICC's first Public Consultation session on July 9th, 2016 at North York Civic Centre (5100 Yonge Street, Toronto) to discuss problems, challenges and priorities of the Iranian Canadian community. This consultation session is arranged as part of the planning and prioritization process that the board of directors of ICC has initiated since the last Annual General Meeting in May 2016. This consultation session is open to public and free of charge.
During this session attendees are encourage to talk about their responses to the following questions:
- In your perspective what are the issues and challenges that Iranian Canadians face in society ?
- How do these issues and concerns affect members of our community?
- What solutions and resources do you believe can potentially address and eradicate these identified problems?

ضمن عرض سلام، احتراماً به اطلاع میرساند کنگرهی ایرانیان کانادا برای تدوین سیاستها و برنامههای بلندمدت خود نیازمند همفکری شماست و این فراخوان به منظور دعوت عمومی برای شرکت در جلسه همفکری در رابطه با مشکلات جامعه ایرانی کانادایی ارسال شده است. همهی ما به عنوان مهاجرین نسل اول و دوم ایرانی پا به کانادا گذاشته ایم و کمابیش با طیف متنوعی از چالشها و فراز و نشیبهای معمول مهاجرت مواجه بوده و هستیم. با وجود همه این مشکلات، در طی سه دهه اخیر ایرانیان کانادا به سطح قابل قبولی از موفقیتهای علمی، اقتصادی و حرفه ای نایل شده اند. اگرچه، جامعهی ایرانیان کانادا از نظر سطح مشارکت و تاثیرگذاری بر فرایندهای تصمیمگیری سیاسی در سطوح ملی، استانی و شهری آنطور که شایسته آن است توفیق نداشته است.
به همین جهت کنگره درصدد دریافت نظرات عمومی برای شناسایی و یافتن راهحل مشکلات جامعهی رنگینکمانی ایرانیان کانادایی است. این همفکری سازنده، فرصتی خواهد بود تا مهمترین اولویتهای جامعهی ایرانیان کانادا به شکلی مدون تبیین شده و مبنایی برای رایزنیهای موثر آتی باشد. بدین جهت مشتاق آن هستیم که از نظرات شما که قطعاً دغدغهی پیشرفت و بهبود وضعیت جامعه ایرانی کانادایی را دارید، بهره ببریم. موجب امتنان خواهد بود اگر نظراتتان را پیرامون سوالات پایهای زیر ثبت کرده و درتاریخ ۹ جولای ۲۰۱۶ روز شنبه از ساعت ۱۰:۳۰ صبح در نورث یورک سیویک سنتر اتاق شماره ۳ با کنگرهی ایرانیان کانادا در میان بگذارید یا به ایمیل [email protected] بفرستید و در این فرآیند مشارکت داشته باشید.
۱- به نظر شما مهمترین مشکلاتی که جامعه ایرانیان کانادا در شرایط کنونی با آن مواجه است چیست؟
۲- از نظر کیفی، مشکلات مذکور به چه میزان اثر بازدارنده بر موفقیتهای فردی و اجتماعی آن بخش از اعضای جامعه داشته است؟
(اختیاری) ۳- کنگره ایرانیان کانادا به چه نحوی می بایست این مشکل/مشکلات را در رایزنی های سیاسی و اجتماعی مد نظر قرار دهد؟
لازم به ذکر است این برنامه برای شرکت عموم آزاد است. از آنجا که هدف این برنامه مشورت عمومی است برای راحتی و اعتماد شرکت کنندگان در ارائه نظرات خود این برنامه به هیچ عنوان ضبط تصویری نمیشود. گزارشی از نظرات طرح شده از طریق کنگره ایرانیان کانادا در اختیار علاقمندان قرار خواهد گرفت.

NOTICE FOR THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE IRANIAN CANADIAN CONGRESS
When: 2PM on Sunday May 15, 2016

Note: The membership cut-off is extended from May 6th to Friday noon, May 13th, 2016. Anyone whose membership has been expired will be able to renew his/her membership and vote at the AGM from 10AM-2PM at Council Chamber, North York Civic Centre.
Dear Members of the Iranian Canadian Congress,
Notice is hereby given to all members of the Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC) that the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the ICC will be held on Sunday May 15th, 2016 at 2PM in North York Civic Centre, Council Chamber in North York, Ontario (5100 Yonge Street) to conduct the following:
- Provide a report about the annual activities and performance of the organization.
- Election for six new board members for the ICC Board of Directors.
Nomination Procedure: ICC members interested to run for a position on the Board of Directors shall follow these steps:
Step 1: Review the eligibility requirements for board nominees (as per the ICC by-law):
- Must have been a member in good standing for at least one (1) year immediately preceding the AGM;
- Must be 21 years or older;
- Must be a Canadian Citizen;
- Must have lived in Canada for at least 5 years in aggregate;
- Must pass a criminal background check.
Step 2: If you meet the eligibility requirements, send an email to [email protected] to announce your intention to run before April 15th, 2016 (11:59PM). Make sure you include your full name and contact information in this email.
Step 3: To complete the nomination process all nominees shall submit the following documents to ICC by email before April 20th, 2016:
- A biography and/or nomination statement in maximum 300 words;
- A passport size photo;
- A certificate of police clearance.
Membership cut-off date
ONLY members of the Iranian Canadian Congress are eligible to attend at the Annual General Meeting and vote for the election of new Board members. Therefore, those who become member of the ICC by the end of May 6th, 2016 (11:59PM) are eligible to vote at the upcoming AGM.
Proxy Voting
Members who are unable to vote in person at the AGM, can assign a proxy representative to vote for them. We will send you the proxy form and instructions in a separate email in the next few weeks.In the coming weeks we will provide you more information about the upcoming AGM.

الف) عضویت در کنگره ایرانیان کانادا برای حداقل یکسال کامل که زمان آن بلافاصله پیش ازتاریخ انتخابات پیش رو محاسبه میگردد؛
ب) حداقل ۲۱ سال و یا بیشتر سن داشته باشند؛
ج) شهروند کانادا باشند؛
د) حداقل (یا در مجموع) ۵ سال در کانادا ساکن بوده باشند؛
ه) بایستی دارای سوء پیشینه نباشند؛

As part of our ongoing effort to improve transparency and openness in the conduct of the ICC Board, starting from December 3rd, 2015 one board meeting every month will be open to ICC members. Members will be able to register for these meetings in advance and attend the meeting as observers.
Date & Time: Thursday December 3rd, 2015 from 6-9PM.
Capacity: We are experimenting open board meetings for the first time. For this meeting we are limiting number of observers to 5. We hope to be able to accommodate more observers in near future.

To inform our community about their rights and responsibilities at work the Iranian Canadian Congress has decided to organize a series of information sessions about employment law in Canada and different standards and regulations in place to ensure their safety and security at work.
Our first session is about Worker’s Health and Safety. This is a collaborative information session organized with the help of Ontario Federation of Labour and Injured Workers Consultants (IWC) Community Legal Clinic. During this session Linda Vannucci from IWC will speak about basic rights under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Employment Standards Act. Aidan Macdonald and Orlando Buonastella from IWC will speak on workers’ rights and compensation in case of injuries at work.

یکی از دغدغه های مهاجران و بخصوص افراد تازه وارد یافتن شغل است ولی سلامت فرد و برخورداری از حقوق قانونی در محل کار مهمترین نیاز هر فرد شاغل است.
با توجه به حوادث ناگواری که برای برخی از ایرانیان در محیط های کار بوجود آمده است، کنگره ایرانیان کانادا بر آن شده است که جلسه آموزشی جهت آگاهی ایرانیان شاغل از قوانین کار و حقوق قانونی آنها در صورت آسیب های احتمالی برگزار نماید
بخش اول: خسارات وارد در محل کار و حقوق کارگران و کارمندان برای جبران خسارات پیش آمده.

Toronto's Distillery DistrictVisit Toronto's Distillery District
The Cultural Committee of the Iranian Canadian Congress is pleased to organize monthly visits to arts, cultural, social and historical sites with the goal of encouraging diversity, the culture of tolerance, acceptance of others and enriching the social bonds within the Iranian-Canadian community.
The first visit is scheduled for the Toronto's Historic Distillery District, on Sunday September 13, 2015 from 10AM to 2:30PM.
Meeting point: King subway at 10:00 am
Schedule:
10:15 am to 1:30 pm: Visit of the Distillery
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm: Rest, Lunch
1:30 pm to 2:30 pm: group discussion and sharing experiences.
